Typically carbon steel chain or alloy steel chain, these chains are coated with a thick layer of zinc through the hot-dip galvanizing process. The coating is hard, offering excellent corrosion and wear resistance. These chains can temporarily replace stainless steel chains or be used in general corrosive environments, such as anchor chains or mooring chains. However, they are not suitable for long-term use in extremely harsh conditions.

Made from carbon steel or alloy steel, these chains are coated with a thin layer of zinc through electroplating. They provide some corrosion resistance and a shiny, aesthetic appearance. These chains are suitable for outdoor or humid environments and can be used short-term in mildly corrosive conditions, such as for swing chains, tie-down chains, or tow chains. However, they are not suitable for long-term use in high-salt environments.
