Electro-galvanized chain has a thinner zinc coating applied through an electroplating process. It offers basic corrosion protection and a cleaner surface finish, making it suitable for indoor or dry environments.
Hot-dip galvanized lock link chain is coated by dipping the chain in molten zinc, producing a much thicker coating. This gives significantly better corrosion resistance and is recommended for outdoor use, humid environments, or applications with regular water exposure. If your valves are installed outdoors or in a wet area, hot-dip galvanized is the better choice.

Lock link chain is not rated for overhead lifting. It is designed for manual operation and light-duty applications only.
For overhead lifting, you need a lifting chain such as a Grade 80 chain or higher. Do not exceed the working load limit of the lock link chain for the application in which it is used.

Because the lock link chain is weldless, the links can be added or removed to adjust the length during installation. Tuohai can also cut the lock link chain to a specific length according to your project requirements.
For chainwheel applications, the chain is typically looped around the chainwheel and connected end-to-end using a connecting link, forming a closed loop.
We recommend checking the chain periodically for the following: visible wear or elongation of individual links, cracks or deformation in any link, and the fit between the chain and the chainwheel.
If the chain no longer seats properly on the chainwheel, slips during operation, or shows visible damage, it should be replaced.
For outdoor installations, check the surface coating condition annually. Lubrication is generally not required for lock link chains in standard chainwheel applications, but can help in high-frequency use situations.
